You have to first register yourself to an account at HitTail.com and add a small snippet of JavaScript code into your website template. When visitors search something that your website provides, the JavaScript code kicks in and collects the search keywords, storing it into your HitTail account.
You can login to your account and check out those search result information. HitTail will provide some suggestions that will not be far off from your website contents. These suggestions are more to a niche group, and not the common aggressive SEO equivalent. You will then need to consider which keywords to use in enhancing your rankings in the search engines and make the necessary modifications in your website contents.
Making use of the long tail concept, you make changes to your contents based on many keywords rather than concentrating all your efforts on a select few. By making the keywords equally available within the contents, the aggregated number of your less popular web pages will drive an overall greater amount of targeted traffic.
However, here’s the thing. Hittailing is more suited for blogging and personal websites where the URL tags on the title of the content.
